Supporting Students with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)

Date: 25th February
Time: 15.30
Location: Online webinar

We’re excited to kick off our brand-new termly workshop series with a very special guest: Award-winning Speech and Language Therapist, Stephen Parsons.

As a trainer, best-selling co-author of Word Aware (1, 2 and 3) and Language for Thinking, and Chair of RADLD (Raising Awareness of Developmental Language Disorder), Stephen has over 35 years of experience. He’ll share his tried and tested strategies in a free workshop on supporting students with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD).

In this 45 minute session, we’ll bring Stephen’s expertise straight to your screen and share:

  • How to recognise the signs of DLD, and how it may look like other conditions
  • How DLD impacts on learning
  • Inclusive teaching strategies that truly work and are minimally impactful to staff workload

There will also be time to ask Stephen questions in a short Q&A!

This exclusive free workshop is an ideal introduction to DLD for teachers, school leaders, SENCOs and teaching assistants.

Parents and carers with an interest in DLD are also welcome to sign up for this informative session.

DLD affects approximately two children in every classroom or 7.5% of the school-aged population.

Children with DLD may have challenges with understanding what others say to them and producing language that accurately articulates their thoughts, feelings and experiences.

Please complete this short form and we’ll be in touch with joining instructions.
