๐ฉ๐ฝ Meet Jenna
Name: Jenna
Age: 17 years, 3 months
College: Kingswell College
Stage: Key Stage 5

Background
Jenna is currently studying a one-year BTEC Level 2 in Fashion, with hopes of progressing to a Level 3 course or finding a job in the fashion industry. She enjoys college and feels more suited to it than school, where she struggled academically and found it hard to build lasting friendships. She had a small group of friends at school, but often fell out with them. She remains in contact with one.
At college, Jenna mostly spends time with her boyfriend, whom she met there. She hasnโt made many other friends and isnโt keen on his friendship group, though she enjoys his company and finds him funny.
Jenna can find the college environment overwhelming at times and struggles with organisation across all areas of her life. She struggles to be on time, meet deadlines and can miss important appointments, such as the GP, as she forgets when they are happening.
In her spare time, she mostly goes online and listens to music. She was referred to CAMHS in Year 10 after beginning to refuse school, but the support she received at the time was helpful.
Despite her challenges, Jenna is highly motivated to succeed. She wants to continue her studies or get a job, earn her own money, and eventually live independentlyโthough she feels anxious about taking those next steps.
What Jenna’s tutor has noticed:
- Keen and motivated to do well in her course
- Can take instructions and information literally in class. Needs a little extra processing time and often asks for coursework extensions
- Can work with others in group work, but is generally a quiet group member
- Does not have a core group of friends
