👦 Meet Michael
Name: Michael Ibrahim
Age: 12 years, 8 months
School: Silvergate Academy
Stage: Year 8

Background
As a child, Michael met all of his developmental milestones and hasn’t previously been known to any external services. During primary school, he was identified as needing a bit of extra support and took part in a small group vocabulary intervention and some transition to secondary school sessions led by his Learning Support Assistant (LSA). Overall, he had a positive experience at primary school and was described as having plenty of friends.
Since moving to secondary school, some concerns have been raised, particularly from the second half of Year 7 onwards. Michael has been arriving late to lessons, missing deadlines, distracting others in class, and has been involved in conflicts with peers during breaktimes and after school. At home, his mum has said that he’s become more withdrawn and has said that he doesn’t enjoy school.
